After-sales automotive professionals have a date with knowledge at Motortec Automechanika Madrid, the trade fair organised by IFEMA. Between 15 and 18 March, this great business platform will host over 100 training, informational and networking activities. Whatever the visitors’ sector or speciality they will find talks, round tables, demonstrations and courses to improve their knowledge of the market and their professional qualifications.

At MOTORTEC, professionals from the sector will have the opportunity to meet clients and suppliers in a quantity and quality not offered by any other event. In addition, they will have access to the widest range of market information and knowledge currently available. To date, a total of 22 exhibitor companies, associations and training and educational centres have signed up for the programme of activities. The more than one hundred events already scheduled will address the concerns of entrepreneurs and professionals attending the great MOTORTEC “mobility ecosystem” about areas as diverse as electromechanics, tyres, bodywork, spare parts, expert inspections and service stations.

Technology and innovation

The new technologies that give a glimpse of what the post-sales of the future will be like are also on show to visitors in the Innovation Gallery. A total of 36 different companies have submitted 54 entries for the prizes that will recognise the most innovative solutions at the fair.

Innovation is also one of the main topics for the activities scheduled for the fair, from companies like Schaeffler, Bosch, Hella, Delphi and Valeo. Their eminently practical sessions will allow workshop professionals to become familiar with the knowledge needed to diagnose, maintain and repair the new systems that are being incorporated into the most modern vehicles.

A technological tone will also be present in the company training sessions from Miac and Carsmarobe. Carsmarobe will hold a professional merit contest, with field tests, to choose the Best Repair Technician. Following this same training and technological line, the company GT Motive will talk about efficient workshop management.

In the field of bodywork, new techniques and processes for assessing the damage to cars will be the main theme of the events designed by the vehicle repair specialists Centro Zaragoza and Cesvimap. In the area between bodywork and vehicle customisation, MOTORTEC will also host the Car Audio Championship (DBRA). In this year’s event, some 20 vehicles are expected to take part.

Tyres will also play a leading role in the fair’s parallel activities, in an exhibition entitled “25 years of tyres at Motortec”. Curated by the magazine Europneus, tyre specialists will be able to enjoy a retrospective of the growth of this sector in Spain. The field of tyres will also include an exhibition on recycling organized by TNU.

Lastly, workshop associations, spare parts distributors, component manufacturers, service stations and vehicle inspection centres have all designed their own events. The Spanish Workshop Confederation (CETRAA); the National Automotive Equipment, Spare Part, Tyre and Accessories Association (ANCERA); the National Association of Tyre Distributors and Importers (ADINE) and the Portuguese association ANECRA will hold a variety of events in which they will tackle topics of great interest to their members and the groups represented.
